“Today, Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, met with the Board of Directors of the Egyptian-Sudanese Company for Development and Multiple Investments, in which the Food Industries Holding Company, affiliated with the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, has a stake.”
“The meeting was attended by Dr. Alaa Naji, CEO and Managing Director of the Food Industries Holding Company, Mr. Diaa El-Dali, Head of the Import Sector at the Food Industries Holding Company, and from the Egyptian-Sudanese Company, Major General Ashraf Hammouda, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Egyptian side, Major General Al-Jili Taj El-Din Abu Shama, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Sudanese side, and Mr. Nasr El-Din Hassan, CEO and Managing Director.”
“From the Ministry of Supply, the attendees included Mr. Ahmed Kamal, Assistant to the Minister for Projects and Media Affairs and the official spokesperson for the Ministry, and Mr. Ahmed Essam, Assistant to the Minister for Political Communication and Parliamentary Affairs.”
“During the meeting, Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, emphasized the depth of Egyptian-Sudanese relations, stressing the importance of achieving economic integration between the two countries. He noted that Egypt has the resources and factories necessary to provide strategic commodities, especially food products for the Egyptian citizen, as well as for exporting to African countries, in cooperation with the sister state of Sudan.”
“During the meeting, the CEO of the Egyptian-Sudanese Company, Mr. Nasr El-Din Hassan, reviewed the company’s contributions to achieving food security in both Egypt and Sudan. He mentioned that the company has, over the past years, supplied consumer complexes with red meat from various African sources, notably Sudan and Somalia. He explained that the company is making logistical arrangements to secure red meat for the 2025 seasons, especially during Ramadan and Eid al-Adha, which will help stabilize meat prices in the Egyptian market and offer it at reasonable prices in the consumer complexes affiliated with the Food Industries Holding Company. He also highlighted the company’s role in developing Egyptian and Sudanese exports to African countries, particularly food exports.”
“At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade emphasized the importance of mutual commodity trade between the two companies and the need to invest in the resources and capabilities available to the company’s stakeholders. He highlighted the development of strategic joint projects between the two countries, including strategic meat supply and an integrated agricultural and livestock production project in both Egypt and Sudan. This, he said, would help meet the needs of both Egyptian and Sudanese citizens, as well as enhance regional and African exports for both countries.”
