Trade exchange between Egypt and Sudan approaches USD 1 billion over 10 months.

Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed that the trade exchange volume between Egypt and Sudan reached USD 985.2 million during the period from January to October 2025, compared to USD 984.9 million during the same period in 2024, reflecting the stability of trade activity between the two countries.

Egyptian exports to Sudan reach USD 760 million, marking a 5% growth.

The data showed that the value of Egyptian exports to Sudan rose to USD 760.2 million during the period from January to October 2025, compared to approximately USD 723.6 million during the same period in 2024, achieving a growth rate of 5%.

CAPMAS data indicated that the main commodity groups exported by Egypt to Sudan during the period from January to October 2025 included: milling products such as flour, starch, and grains valued at USD 109.4 million, and iron and its products valued at USD 96 million

Egypt exported to Sudan sugar and sugar products valued at USD 80.2 million, ready-made garments valued at USD 66.5 million, and fats and vegetable and animal oils valued at USD 54.3 million

In contrast, Egyptian imports from Sudan declined to USD 225 million during the period from January to October 2025, compared to USD 261.3 million during the same period in 2024, marking a decrease of 13.9%.
According to the statistics, the main commodity groups imported by Egypt from Sudan during the same period included pearls, gemstones, and jewelry valued at USD 112.1 million, and grains and oilseeds valued at USD 51.8 million

Egypt imported live animals from Sudan valued at USD 36.4 million, and cotton valued at USD 22 million.

In terms of investments, the value of Sudanese investments in Egypt rose to USD 3.3 million during the fiscal year 2024/2025, compared to USD 1.5 million during the fiscal year 2023/2024.

Egyptian investments in Sudan also increased to USD 1.6 million during the fiscal year 2024/2025, compared to approximately USD 700,000 in the previous fiscal year.

The data showed a significant jump in remittances from Egyptians working in Sudan, reaching USD 19.7 million during the fiscal year 2024/2025, compared to USD 3.9 million in the fiscal year 2023/2024.

Meanwhile, remittances from Sudanese working in Egypt fell to USD 63,000 during the fiscal year 2024/2025, compared to USD 521,000 in the previous fiscal year.

This comes within the framework of strengthening and supporting bilateral relations between Egypt and Sudan across various fields, coinciding with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi receiving today Field Marshal Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council

The population of Egypt reached 108.5 million in December 2025, while the population of Sudan was recorded at 52.4 million during the same period. The number of Egyptians residing in Sudan was estimated at approximately 250 by the end of 2024, according to the mission’s estimates.
